We have a lot to be thankful for this turkey day, but we are very thankful to have each other as well as our family and friends support in all of our crazy adventures. We are also thankful that this is the 4th Thanksgiving holiday Brooke and I have spent together and each one seems to get a little crazier.
Being that our Thanksgiving was yesterday, and we did not have Thursday or Friday off, we did not think that we would get to eat Thanksgiving dinner. Not to mention, no one in Vietnam has an oven and you can’t get a turkey on the side of the road like you can a chicken or a duck.
Luckily, one of the teachers at work found a Thanksgiving Buffet at a restaurant called the Black Cat, it is one of the better places to eat in HCMC. So for $28 we headed down to an all you can eat turkey dinner with free sangria or beer.
It turned out to be great food, with good friends. Besides family, it was missing three things though: the Pineapple salad, home-made apple pie, and Arlo Guthrie’s “Alice’s Resturant.”
We ate ourselves to “food-baby” status and had to head home to lay down and stretch our stomaches.
